April 9, The 4th Grade CIRCUS!

Hi there!  We've been working hard on our Circuses, based on Alexander Calder's Circus (link here!)
He created his circus over a number of years, carrying it from the US to Europe and performing it for friends.  Calder was also an engineer and his circus uses multiple simple machines.  Our 4th graders also used simple machines in their acts!  See if you can spot some!

The Third Grader's Bird Animations!

We put these together using the 3D paper birds the students made-  they learned about simple stop animation while flying their birds across the sky!

4th Grade 2016-17 SheHero Animations!

Last Spring the 4th graders created these paper face animations of their Hero/Shero project.  They learned how to make a paper stop animation, and they included a quote from their person as well as a voice over.

And they did a great job!

Fourth graders are finishing up their incredible paper animation projects!  I've never done this with 4th grade before, usually with upper level students but these kids are doing amazing work!  I'll post some of the videos later-  these are to give you an idea of how they worked!
